Adam Carrillo

Bull Rider, Team Roper & Ring of Fire Honoree
1971-Living

Adam Carrillo was born in El Paso, Texas on October 28, 1971 to John and Anne Dutchover Carrillo.  Adam and his twin brother, Gilbert shared “a common goal to be the best Rodeo Bull Riders in the Professional Rodeo Cowboy Association (PRCA).”  Being a West Texas cowboy, Gilbert rode and won many times in the West of the Pecos Rodeo when Mack Altizer’s Bad Company was producing.

In 1992, Adam along with his brother, embarked on the Pro Rodeo circuit road in their quest for the Rookie of the Year Award and for qualifying for the NFR.  “The twins have crisscrossed this great nation from Salinas, California to Madison Square Gardens in New York City, New York, from Kissimmee, Florida to Seattle, Washington, and from Vancouver, British Columbia to Brandon, Manitoba in Canada.”

Career highlights for Adam include qualifying for 9 PBR World Finals in 1994-2001 and 2004 and four times for the Built Ford Tough World Finals in his 12 year PBR career.  Adam scored his highest-recorded score of 94.5 points twice, once atop Jit in 1999 in Louisville, Kentucky and by riding Mossy Oak (Washita) Mud Slinger in Columbus, Georgia in 2001.  And won $1 Million between him and his brother, Gilbert.  Adam also picked up back-to-back wins in 1999 at Louisville, Kentucky and Tunica, Mississippi.

It is rare that these brothers do anything separately, so after retiring from the PBR in 2006, they started their own oilfield business, Cowboy Oil Field Services and own interest in Nitro Oil Field Services, with Adam covering South Texas and Gilbert covering West Texas.  Adam was inducted into the PBR Ring of Honor in 2014, along with his twin, Gilbert.

Adam and Heidi live in Stephenville, Texas with their children, Haden and Westley.  Heidi is a Yoga and Pilates Instructor and they own and operate, Super C Welding and Construction Co.
